LYMAN BYXBE (1886-1980) RARE PENCIL SIGNED DRYPOINT - Lyman Byxbe (Colorado, 1886-1980) Dream Lake 1944 The rare drypoint from an edition of only 27 prints for the Chicago Society of Etchers show at the Library of Congress in 1944 is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and titled lower left. Crump number 345. Crump's catalog raisonne reads: 'Coyt Hackett watched Byxbe print the edition and after number 27 . print 28 showed sufficient degrading of the Drypoint so that Byx terminated the edition and destroyed number 28.' Plate size 9 x 7, frame measures 19.75 x 17.75 inches.
