Chicago Train Station in Winter

Circa 1935-1940.

The view of a Chicago depot in winter at dusk pictures riders outside a lighted waiting room door and is signed lower center. A steam powered locomotive enters from the right. Around the time this was painted, Aaron Bohrod was a painter depicting the daily life of Chicago's working class and subjects of social realism under the auspices of the Depression-era WPA program, the Chicago Federal Art Project, Under the WPA he completed the Vandalia, Illinois Post Office mural in 1936.
