Bidspirit auction | A GOOD SEMI-ANTIQUE CENTRAL PERSIAN

A GOOD SEMI-ANTIQUE CENTRAL PERSIAN MOHARRANT RUG - The Qum region weaving from Central Persia is knotted in the unusual drawing of long strips of individual patterns made up of intricate stylized floral motifs, a challenging design to execute at the level of quality seen here. The Muharram pattern is one of the very old Iranian patterns in which the carpet text is divided into narrow strips. The strips can be straight or diagonal. The inside of the strips is filled with various colors and delicate patterns. It is also called the striped pattern. Measures 80 x 58 inches.
