The rural view is signed lower right front in red pigment and displayed in a frame of the period with custom carved corners. Sidney Wiggins was a New England painter and printmaker who studied at the National Academy under Robert Henri and others. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club as well as the Yonkers Art Association where he served as president for a time.
