Jean Charlot was a French-born painter, printmaker, and muralist who became an influential figure in American art after emigrating from Mexico to the United States in the 1930s. Known for his role in the early Mexican mural movement alongside Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco, Charlot joined the faculty of the University of Kansas in Lawrence in 1947 where he taught fresco painting, drawing, and art history. Board measures 6 x 8 with a framed size of 12.5 x 10.5 inches.
