Birger Sandzen (Kansas, 1871-1954) Afterglow 1917 The rare early woodcut on wove watermarked paper is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and titled lower left. Greenough no. 11. Finding this early image in exceptional condition such as this is extremely rare. It doesn't appear that this print was ever framed and therefore never subjected to decades in acidic matting or other harmful effects of exposure and framing. Image measures 12 x 12, sheet is 15 x 15, mat is 19.25 x 18.5 inches.
