Wilson's comments in Hunt read: 'In drawing Tom six times, I feel I discovered the secret of his pictorial design: there in his face were the same interlocking patterns of his pictures. The intensity of his concentration was best seen by those who posed for him. When he posed for me, however, he complained that I made him work too hard.
