A LATE 19TH CENTURY SHIRVAN PRAYER RUG - The ivory field with an allover design of offset rows of stepped polychrome medallions below a comb dais and pair of birds, ivory chevron tree and bird spandrels, within a continuous hooked 'X' red border, framed continuous 's' vine saffron guard borders. A very striking composition with an impressive red border and with the addition of fabulous saffron guard borders. Measures approximately; 74.5 x 37.5 inches; 6ft.2.5 inches x 3ft.1.5 inches; 190 x 95cm.
