A FINE AND UNUSUAL LATE 19TH CENTURY AKSTAFA RUG - The dark blue field with two pointed star medallions supported by a mass of scattered flower heads, squares, and rosettes, with a pair of inward facing horses, and mirrored people between pairs of inward facing 'tails in' standing peacocks, within a saffron continuous polychrome linked bird border. Measures approximately 82 x 44 inches; 6ft.10in x 3ft.8in; 208 x 112cm.
