FACHRALO KAZAK PRAYER RUG DATED AH1286/AD1869 - The tomato red field with a large central ivory rectangular reserve enclosing a quatrefoil medallion supported y hooked flower heads above a purple rounded medallion within a pointed arch, hooked rhombus spandrels with mirrored date inscriptions, reading AH 1286, (1869), an ivory diagonal linked double s border, blue flower head guard stripes. This fine Fachralo rug appears to be from a specific group (along with Lot 44), within the Fachralo weavings, defined by the. field composition with a central square and the formal arrangement of the supporting elements. An earlier example with similar field arrangement, and different border circa 1863 sold at Skinner Marlborough 21-29 October 2020, lot 1145. The later examples apply an arrow head border arrangement as seen in this example. Rugs from the same group, include an example, dated 1916, published in HALI, 2/1, 1979, p.76: HALI 114, 2001, p.108, Thomas Wild, Berlin, Berlin; and Hasson, Caucasian rugs, pl.10. the L.A.
