FINE SHIRVAN PRAYER RUG, THIRD QUARTER OF THE 19TH C. - The ivory field with allover polychrome hooked shield palmettes within a hexagonal lattice, issuing hooked vines, below a pointed square , blue pointed arch with ivory hooked rhombus spandrels, within a red continuous polychrome hooked bird border, twin reciprocal medacyl guard stripes. Measures approximately 66 x 42 inches; 5ft.6 inches x 3ft.6in; 168 x 107cm.
