AN IMARI NANBAN BOWL WITH DRAGONS AND DUTCH TRADERS - The bowl's interior is centered by a large gold-ground medallion featuring a phoenix or other bird, the walls with VOC-style Dutch Ships having high sterns and Dutch flags sailing on stylized green waves highlighted in white enamel applications. The walls with Dutch Traders framed in scalloped red-ground medallions, a large five-clawed Imperial-style dragon in white and gold enamel, shown writhing through stylized white clouds as it pursues a flaming pearl on the exterior.
