Finely carved in the form of an octopus with considerable detail, the tool is complete with hand forged iron handle, and porcelain fitting through which the marking line would travel. This example is special not only for its quality and beauty, but for the original inscribed wood box (kiribako) that accompanies it. Measures 6.5 x 11.75 x 7.25 inches.
