A TIERED JAPANESE BAMBOO IKEBANA BASKET, ADAIR ESTATE - The basket of three-tiered weaving construction has a tight twill weave transitioning into a central band of broad-splint diagonal openwork capped by a dense, textured neck. The wide, rolled rim is heavily braided in contrast to the tapering waist. The high, arched handle is composed of multiple bamboo stalks, tightly twisted and roped together. The base is a square-perimeter weave reinforced by thick, parallel bamboo 'runners' and a diagonal cross-brace. Measures 17 x 10 inches in diameter.
