Victor Vasarely (1906-1997) Malom (Windmill) 1990 The striking polychrome wood sculpture numbered 2 from an edition of 175 is an outstanding three-dimensional op art installation displayed on a custom floorstanding pedestal. No visible signature has been located on the sculpture. Appears on page 38 in the exhibition catalog 'Victor Vasarely, A Retrospective Exhibition' (1990). Measures 26 x 21.25 inches. The custom made display with iron pins that the sculpture slides onto has a large repaired chip to one corner. Provenance The estate of John Adair Jr. (1942-2025), founder and proprietor of Kurofune Antiques in Tokyo (est. 1978), a world-renowned destination for Japanese basketry, prints and furniture featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Wall Street Journal.
