A RARE LARGE EDO JAPANESE VOTIVE TABLET DATED 1791 - The fine and rare example constructed from Japanese Cedar or Cypress with peaked roof the shape of a traditional Shinto shrine roof and ebonised frame with tarnished gilding is painted with a spear-wielding figure in brilliant green with a vermilion red spear on a charging horse.
