AN EXCEPTIONAL JAPANESE IKEBANA BASKET, ADAIR ESTATE - The beautiful example of exceptional color, patina, form, composition and craftsmanship is meticulously woven in something of a 'sailing boat' form. The four-cornered base is elevated by distinctive 'feet' and finished in a fine weave. The top edge is completed in a 'wave' style rim that dips low in the center, the weave of the body transitions at a point not unlike the waterline draft of a boat. This is an exceptional example, unsigned. Measures 15.5 x 12 x 10 inches.
