TANABE CHIKUUNSAI TRUMPET FORM BASKET, ADAIR ESTATE - The slender, columnar body of open vertical-stay weave is reinforced by a zig-zag of fine, thin lacing that binds the horizontal and vertical elements. The rim is elaborately reinforced with bamboo wrap and lacing with the handle joined by complex circular knotting on each of the three twig fingers on each side. The base is similarly embellished. Accompanied by its original blackened bamboo liner (otoshi) and its signed paulownia wood storage box. Basket measures 19 x 8 x 8 inches.
