Billy Devorss (Missouri, 1908-1985) - BILLY DEVORSS (1908-1985) ORIGINAL PASTEL ILLUSTRATION. Billy Devorss (Missouri, 1908-1985) Rita Hayworth Circa 1946 The artist's interpretation of Rita Hayworth in the 1946 movie Gilda is signed lower right. Pin-up and illustration art dealers Grapefruit Moon Gallery make the following observation: Billy Devorss seems to have been positively obsessed with Hayworth. Not only did he create the 'Gilda' (up for bid here) and 'You'll Never Get Rich' examples., he also seems to have referenced Hayworth a number of other times. None of the images . were marketed as Hayworth, but they all in one way or another reference the actress, and when seen as a collection, point pretty clearly to the fact that Devorss saw Hayworth as a muse of sorts.
