Pictured in Rural America: Prints from the Collection of Steven Schmidt (University of Kansas, 1993, this example is a fine impression found in exceptional condition. The following is an excerpt from The Prairie Woodcutter: The Story of Herschel C. Logan (Wichita, Kansas: McCormick-Armstrong Co., 1937. Mr. Logan has received many medals, ribbons and other honors for his prints which have been exhibited in most of the important American shows. He is one of the charter members of the Prairie Print Makers and by invitation became an active member in the Print Makers Society of California. His art activity has been centered in the Middle West where he is frequently referred to as 'The Prairie Woodcutter.' Image measures 9 x 7 with a framed size of 17.75 x 15.25 inches.
