Manuscript of three megillot—Chidan, Yemen, 1846
Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes, Ruth, with Rashi’s commentary and Targum, with crowning of the first words of verses, with decorations, in red. Additions in the margins of some pages. Nice handwriting. The colophon has the name of the scribe: “Yosef ben Yehuda Gamosi ben Yehuda ben Yehi Karavani, completed in Av of 1846.” Moth damage and many stains. Binding done by hand, matching the period of the writing. 100 written pages. 17x24cm. Generally bad to ok condition.
