Valuable books from the 'Wolf Collection', all printed in the well known Hasidic printing house of Rabbi Moshe Shapira and his sons in Slavita and Zitamir.

The auctionwill will take place on Monday, Tammuz 16th, 6/7/20, at 21:30, Israel Time.

The collection includes extremely important, rare books and privileged copies. Most of the details are in excellent condition and even new.

Few of the books in this collection are suitable for collectors, who seek to  complete  and repair their own collection.

Sefer 'Tochachat Megula', by the great leader Rabbi Rafael of Nortzi, full of morality and justice. Shapiro Partners Press grandsons of Rav of Slavita Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehushua Heschel. Zhytomyr 1858.


[1], 32-40 pages, 15 cm. With stamp: 'יוסף בהגאון מאיר ז"ל פיימער מסלוצק' (Yosef ben HaGaon Meir z"l Feimer of Slutsk).


Rabbi Yosef Feimer - R' Yosel'e Slutsker (about 1796-1864), from great scholars of Lithuania, born in Skuodas to his father Rabbi Meir Feimer and known from his childhood as as a prodigy and very diligent, from the supreme students of Yeshivat Volozhin, and revered disciple of the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Volozhin, who ordained him for Hora'aeh and prepared him for Rabbanut. Served as Rav in the city of  Likenik (Luoke). Among his disciples was the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael of Salant. From 1829 served as Rav in the city of Slutsk. He communicated about actual Halacha with great scholars of his generation all over Lithuania  and sent his responses of complex Halacha. Was very modest, and led in his era the public leadership with great respect of Torah. Later most of his manuscripts were burnt, and from those left the sefer 'Derashot U'Biurim LeTorah L'Rabbainu Yosef M'Slutsk', and 'She'alot U'Teshuvot Rabbainu Yosef of Slutsk' was printed.


New half leather cover with golden lettering. Aging stains, tiny tears restored with a number of lettering damaged. Good condition.
