U.S. FOOD ADMINISTRATION POSTERS (2)

Good pair of World War I-era propaganda posters, each advertising the United States Food Administration, which was tasked with managing the food reserves of the U.S. Army and its allies in Europe during the conflict, as well as enforcing rationing and donations of materials on the home front. Includes: Two-color poster, 20 x 29 in., showing a hand holding a bread knife, slicing a loaf of bread, above the text: "Save a loaf a week. Help win the war." The bottom edge is marked "U.S. Food Administration", above a publishing line indicating that it was printed by the W.F. Powers Lithography Co. of New York. Wrinkles, else very good. WITH: A second text-only poster, 20 x 29 in., advising readers to save wheat, meat, fats and sugar, "...and serve the cause of freedom". The bottom edge is marked "U.S. Food Administration", above a publishing line indicating that it was printed by the W.F. Powers Lithography Co. of New York. Some damage and loss to the edges, with a notable jagged tear to the bottom-right, else very good.
