ALBERT SPEER AND MARK CLARK
Unusual signed commemorative envelope celebrating the German surrender to Allied forces and showing a printed portrait image of General Dwight Eisenhower, bearing signatures from two critical figures on opposite sides of the war: ALBERT SPEER (1905-1981), Nazi German architect and Minister of Armaments and War Production, convicted of war crimes at Nuremberg, and MARK CLARK (1896 - 1984), American general, commanded the landings at Salerno and Anzio against the forces of Kesselring. Speer signs at right in black ink, while Clark signs boldly at bottom in black ink. The obverse bears a May 8, 1945 cancel, and the reverse bears a May 8, 1995 cancel. Fine.
