FRANK O'DRISCOLL HUNTER
World War I flying ace with nine kills, later serving as commanding general of the VIII Fighter Command and the First Air Force. Hunter also commanded the all-black 477th Bombardment Group at Freeman Field in Seymour, Indiana when 104 African-American were subjected to military court martial for trying to integrate the base's officer club in early 1945. War-date S.P., 6 x 11 in. color, a lithograph of a caricature of Hunter in AAC uniform, signed adding rank and "1943" at bottom Matted and framed. From the estate of CALEB VANCE HAYNES (1895-1966), U.S. Air Force major general and one of the most important and talented military aviators and commanders of World War II.
