FRANZ BOHME'S DINNER MENU, SIGNED BY NINE THIRD REICH OFFICIALS
(1885 -1947) Austrian general, Commander of the XVIII Mountain Corps, Commanding General in the Balkans, and commander-in-chief in German-occupied Norway. Bohme was tried for the massacre of thousands of Serbian civilians and committed suicide in prison. Menu from a dinner hosted by Bohme, 4pp. 4 x 5.75 in., held in Salzberg on March 31, 1942, signed on the back cover by nine Third Reich officials, including ADOLF SCHEEL, MAX-JOSEF PEMSEL, and seven unidentified. Next to their names, Bohme adds brief identifying inscriptions in pencil in his own hand. The interior pages bear the printed menu served to the guests, as well as an order that they should receive ration coupons for meat, fat, and bread - increasingly scarce by this point in the war. The front cover has notable brown stain at lower-right, else very good.
