GERD VON RUNDSTEDT

(1875 - 1953) German field marshal who led the blitzkrieg attack on France, seizing the country within two weeks, defeated by Allied forces in Normandy and in the desperate Battle of the Bulge. A.L.S. 'Gerd' and signed twice again 'von Rundstedt' on the face, a war-date postcard addressed to his wife, Berlin, Sep. 29, 1941, in pencil, in German. Not translated, but written just days after his stupendous victory at the First Battle of Kiev. Near fine.
