GERMAN "CHEMICAL TROOPS" OFFICER''S PARADE TUNIC

Scarce M1937 Wehrmacht officer's parade tunic in superb condition. The green felt collar with bordeaux red piping bears two perfect silver wire collar tabs, which are also piped in bordeaux red denoting the officer's assignment to a "chemical troops" or "smoke troops" regiment. Likewise, there are two sewn-in silver bullion shoulder boards with bordeaux red backing. A silver bullion eagle with swastika on green felt backing has been very carefully affixed to the right breast beneath a silver wire aiguillette. The eight original silver pebbled buttons remain attached at front, and two threaded medal loops are also present at the left breast. Insignia at the ends of the sleeves, as well as trim and buttons on the back of the garment, are all excellent. The jacket bears a sturdy rayon lining with sweat guards at the armpits, as well as a horizontal slash pocket inside the left-hand side. The left-hand interior pocket bears an ownership label, to which the soldier has added his name and the date "15.3.1937". Another sewn-on manufacturer's label near the left armpit from: "Arthur Ahlgrimm...Potsdam". The tunic exterior is in very good to near fine condition, marred only by a few moth nips throughout.
