HEAVILY-INSCRIBED JAPANESE PRESENTATION FLAG, SIGNED BY THREE GENERALS
Small yet heavily-inscribed Japanese presentation flag, 18 x 26.5 in., given to departing Japanese soldier Shigamura Shimura, signed in Japanese kanji by 26 individuals across the white field. The top edge bears the slogan "Sure Victory", while the right side bears the inscription "Long live your warrior luck...to Shigemura Shimura...". Signatures include Army Major General KINTA IKUTA, Army General YU OSHIMA, Army Major General Pioneers Division NISHIKI MOTO, Army Pioneer Second Lieutenant KOJI OSHIMA, and 22 unidentified signatures. The silk flag bears two leather reinforcements on the hoist corners, each with cord loops for hanging purposes. Spots of tape remnants towards the edges, else very good to fine.
