Il primo modello fu presentato al Photokina nel 1966, è stato migliorato negli anni e tuttora in produzione. The Leica Noctilux M 50 mm f. 0.95 also nicknamed "Light Giant" is the brightest aspherical lens in the world. The first model was presented at Photokina in 1966, improved over the years, it is still in production today.
