Uscita sul mercato nel 2001, è l'erede della FM2 del 1983 ma acquisisce importanti caratteristiche della serie FE, come l'automatismo a priorità di diaframma della FE2. Da quest'ultima prende inoltre il mirino e la visualizzazione dei dati dell'esposimetro, utilizzando un galvanometro ad aghi che indica in automatismo il tempo impostato dalla macchina, mentre in manuale funziona a sovrapposizione di aghi (calcolato - impostato). Il suo otturatore è detto "ibrido" in quanto in manuale è del tutto meccanico ed agisce anche in assenza di corrente, in A invece è elettromeccanico (meccanico ma assistito dall'energia elettrica). Questa è in condizioni pari al nuovo, fornita di scatola e dotazione originale.

Its shutter is called "hybrid" because in manual it is completely mechanical and works even without current, in A instead it is electromechanical (mechanical but assisted by electricity).
