Luftwaffe Veteran Photo Album of the Invasion of Poland
Photo album of a LW veteran of the 5./52 who took part in the invasion of Poland in 1939. Very nice album with 78 photos, many of them described with a very beautiful handwriting. Among the photos we find: a portrait of his Hauptmann Meyer, driving in the very new Autbahn Magdeburg-Berlin-Frankfurt/Oder, military vehicles, near the border with Poland, anti-tank trenches, artillery battery, in a village called Bucovnica, where his unit was shot by the enemy and there was a church. Also photos of this village in flames during the war and some peasants worrying about it. Some of the photos depict perfectly the sadness of war, the destruction and the side-effects that always affect the civilians. Also other LW soldiers, comrades of the owner of the album during action, photo of Polish Jews (it seems they are Jews), a grave of a soldier, catured POW's marching and destructed armored vehicle. Album has a nice cover with LW eagle and the name of the regiment. Very nice abum indeed.
