A copy on blue paper of the first edition of this fascinating historical work on Milan illustrated by Aspardi's fine engravings among which a large folding engraved map of Milan. This is the first book printed by the Tipografia del Monastero of S. Ambrogio. 4to (272 x 210mm). Half-title, engraved frontispiece and title within architectural border, 8 headpieces of which 2 with city views and 6 with coins and bas-reliefs, 3 initials and 5 tail-pieces, all engraved, a plate with a facsimile of a document and a splendid large folding map of Milan (few light spots). Contemporary marbled boards (recased and restored) preserved in a modern marble case.
