Letter from Rabbi Moshe Moinshter to the Author Arye Leib Frumkin – 1903 – Stamps of the Post Offices of Tiberias and Jaffa
Postcard probably sent from Tiberias to Jerusalem, via Jaffa. 1903. On the reverse side there is a stamp of the post office in Jaffa.
The postcard was sent by Rabbi Moshe Moinshter to his friend, Yisrael Dov Frumkin, a pioneer of the Hebrew journalism in Israel. Among others, the writer asks to send him the 'Chavatzelet' newspaper, which Frumkin edited between the years 1870-1911. Frumkin also founded 'Beit Moshav Zekenim' in Jerusalem, which is mentioned in the letter before us.
Rabbi Moshe Avraham Moinshter, the son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Moinshter, a relative of Rabbi Diskin was born in Jerusalem. The postcard before us was sent while he was staying in Tiberias. After several years, he travelled abroad and served as a rabbi in Bronxville in the USA. He published essays in religious journals.
Condition: Very Good.
