Bikurim Tractate of the Jerusalem Talmud, with commentary of Rabbi Avraham Eliezer Alperstein – New York 1890 – Single Edition – Stamp of Rabbi Eliyahu Hertzenberg, rabbinical judge of Brooklyn
The author: Rabbi Avraham Eliezer Alperstein (1853-1917) was born in Kobryn and educated by his relative, the RIDBAZ. He was among the founders of the Union of Rabbis in the USA and one of the first rabbis to immigrate to the USA and revived Judaism there. When he arrived in the States, he served as the rabbi of the Miarmpal Scholl community Chicago. However, the presidents of the community bore a grudge against him due to his halachic conservatism and did not pay his salary. Later, he moved to New York and served as head of the Rabeinu Elchanan Yeshiva and as the rabbi of the Mishkan Yisrael community.
The book has two important agreements by Rabbi Yosef Dober Soloveitchik, rabbinical judge of Brisk and Rabbi ya'akov Yoseg, rabbinical judge of New York and the rabbi of the kolel of the Union of Communities in America.
The book has a stamp of Rabbi Eliyahu Hertzenberg.
