The Holy Rabbi Yehuda Arye Leib of Gur (1847 - 1905). from great chassidic sages. The holy sefer 'Sefat Emet', is from the most important basic Chassidic sefarim in he world of Chassidut. In his childhood he was orphaned from his father the Holy Rabbi Avraham Mordechai son of the Holy Chidushei Harim, and was therefore raised in the home of his holy grandfather. With the passing of his grandfather, the Chidushei Harim, the community laid their eyes on him, but he refused to be appointed as Rabbi and Admor and he basked in the shade of the Holy Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Alexander. In the year 1830 he started serving the Chassidic community of Gur. His Torah teachings on the weekly Parshiot and the festivals, he used to write himself every Sunday morning, while crowned with his Tefillin Rabbainu Tam. After his passing, these became the contents of a profound and founding sefer, from the most important sefarim in the Chassidic world: 'Sefat Emet'.
