HANDWRITTEN SIGNED LETTER FROM RABBI YISRAEL BERGER, RABBI OF PROBUZNA AND BUCHAREST, AUTHOR OF MANY CHASSIDIC WORKS.
Letter dated 1914, from Rabbi Yisrael Berger, Rabbi of Bucharest, to R. Aba Bloch of Delatin (father of Chaim Bloch), a Kossover chassid, asking him to send him his memories of the Rebbes of Kossov for inclusion in his forthcoming publications.
Rabbi Yisrael Berger (1855-1919), Rabbi of Probuzna (Galicia), Darna-Vatra, Piatra-Neamt and Baza in Romania, and from 1898 Rabbi of the orthodox community of Bucharest. Follower of the Rebbe of Zidatczow and son-in-law of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager of Zaboltow. Author of Ateres Yaakov Veyisrael, Zechus Yisrael and numerous chassidic biographical publications.
