RABBI YOSEF SHALOM ELYASHIV – TWO PAGES OF TORAH WRITINGS IN HIS HANDWRITING AND WITH HIS SIGNATURE.
Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv (1910-2012), son of Rabbi Avraham Levinson (Elyashiv), author of Birkas Avraham and Rabbi in Gomel, Belarus. His mother was a daughter of the famous Lithuanian gaon and cabalist Rabbi Shlomo Elyashiv of Shavel (Lithuania) and Yerushalayim author of Leshem Shevo Ve’achlomoh. Settled in Yerushalayim in 1924 and married a daughter of Rabbi Aryeh Levin. Rabbinical head of Beth Hamedrash Ohel Torah and Rabbi of Kneseth Bachurim, where he delivered a famous daily Talmud shiur till the end of his life. Recognised as leading halachic authority, who dealt with the most complex and weighty contemporary halachic problems.
