HETER ME’AH RABBANIM, DOCUMENT SIGNED BY GREAT RABBIS OF TZEFAS AND TEVERYA 1894.
A rare document signed by the leading rabbis of Tzefas and Teverya in 1894, permitting Rabbi Shalom David to marry a second wife.
The permit states it is being granted at the request of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Sieniawa, Rabbi Moshe Grunwald of Chust – the Arugas Habosem, and Rabbi Shalom Mordechai Schwadron of Brzezany.
The text written by Rabbi Refael Dov Silberman, Av Beth Din Tzefas, refers to the distinguished rabbis requesting the permission to be granted, as testified by R. Mendel [Sternberg] of Dez and R. Baruch David Kahana, author of Chibas Ha’aretz and Birkas Ha’aretz.
