Part I. Tiflis (1875-1878). Part II. Kovno and Kiev. The arrival of the Imperial Highnesses ( the Grand Duke and his wife) to the Tiflis gymnasium is described. Conflicts with local bureaucrats. 



Typewritten 19th century with handwritten edits and inserts of the text in French by Elizabeth Witte. Elizabeth de Witte (1833 or 1834-after 1915) was a Russian teacher, writer and publicist of Orthodox-monarchist orientation. Daughter of collegiate assessor Ivan Petrovich Ammosov and Varvara Dmitrievna Svechina. Graduated from Smolny Institute (1851). Married in 1856, for Michael p. de Witte (17.07.1828-16.03.1867), commander of the Preobrazhensky life guards regiment. battery N 5 battery of the 3rd guards and Grenadier artillery brigade, knight of the order of St. Stanislaus 2nd and 3rd degree, St. Anna 3rd degree and St. Vladimir 4th degree with swords and bow (1851).[1] in 1875-1897 she was the chief supervisor of the Tiflis and Kovno women's gymnasiums, then from 1897 to 1904 she was the Director of the boarding school at the fundukleevskaya women's gymnasium, which Anna Akhmatova graduated from in those years. About his work in the above gymnasiums later wrote a book " from the memoirs of the head of the female gymnasium. In three parts. 1875-1904".
