Iran / Persia - 2 Tomans 1924 - Imperial Bank of Persia - F

A rare Meshed issuance stamp is seen on this early example from the second series of the Imperial Bank of Persia. Naser al-Din Shah Qajar is featured. Though has repairs, masked rust, and stains on the back of the holder, this remains a scarce note in any condition.


As with the preceding issues, these notes bear redemption stamps. 1- through 10-toman notes intended for issuance in Teheran have an engraved redemption clause; all others denominations and branch issues (including Abadan, Barfrush, Bunder-Abbas, Burujird, Bushire, Dizful, Hamadan, Isfahan, Kazvin, Kerman, Kermanshah, Maidaninaftom, Meshed, Muhammareh, Pehlavi, Resht, Shiraz, Tabriz, and Yezd) are hand-stamped.
