Mili d’Chassiduta—second edition, Sighet, 1910. Copy with yichus

An important work on the Sefer Chassidim of Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid, by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham David Worman, Av Beit Din of Botchatch. With notes of the Maharsham of Berezan. [2], 62 pages. At the end are names of subscribers from Hungarian communities, important endorsements from the Maharsham of Berezan and the Arugat HaBosem of Khust. Light stains, paper a little fragile, overall good condition.

Title page has a note of ownership: “L’D’ HaAretz u’Mlo’ah HaKadoesh Moshe S…[?]”. Note: “Moshe ben Azriel.” Introduction page has an additional smudged note with the same names. Where the subscribers are from Satmar, the additional name has been added “Moshe Schwartz.” See below. Symbols in the body of the work and a significant note.

This copy was probably owned by Rabbi Haim Moshe Schwartz, the Zvodin d’Orata (born in 1880), son of Rabbi Azriel of Satmar. He was a student of the geonim of the time: the Arugat HaBosem of Khust, Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald in Satmar, and Rabbi Akiva Sofer in Pressburg. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Eliyahu Glick of Tetch. During WWII, he immigrated to England where he operated as a shochet in Portsmouth. In 1945 he immigrated to Indianapolis (USA), and after moving to a few different cities he finally made Aliyah to Jerusalem in 1974.
