NIXON RICHARD (1913-1994). AMERICAN PRESIDENT
Typed Signed letter and envelope. L.S. “Dick”, Washington 31 July 1956, to Samuel K. Mc CONNELL Jr. 1 small in-4 typed page, thumbnail and heading “Offi ce of the Vice President - Washington”. Envelope with its label. Written in English. He thanks the Representative for his trust and loyalty. “Dear Sam, It is diffi cult to express adequately in a letter how deeply I appreciated your fi ne gesture of confi dence and loyalty in joining in last Saturday’s statement in my behalf. As you can imagine, I have received a considerable volume of telegrams and letters during the past week. But nothing could mean quite so much as the expression of continuing support from those I know best --- my friends and colleagues with whom I served in the House of Representatives. With Kind regards, Sincerely ...…” Richard Nixon (1913-1994) 37th President of the United States, Member of the Republican Party. Richard Milhous Nixon, (1913 - 1994) was the 37th President of the United States of America. He was elected for two four-year terms in 1969 and 1973 but resigned in 1974. His presidency was marked by the Vietnam War but, for his contemporaries, the scandal created by the Watergate affair which led to his resignation probably remains the major event. The 1972 presidential election was the consecration of Richard Nixon.
