ERNST KALTENBRUNNER
(1903 - 1946) Chief of the RSHA who replaced Heydrich, he was a rabid anti-Semite who greatly increased efforts to round-up Jews, and also urged the murder of parachutists. Responsible for implementing the 'Final Solution' and executed at Nuremberg. KALTENBRUNNER AND BURCKEL SPLIT MONIES STOLEN FROM JEWS Good content T.L.S. on his Austrian SS State Security letterhead, 1p. 4to., Aug. 25, 1939 to JOSEF BURCKEL (1895-1944) Gauleiter of Vienna who heavily promoted the Anschluss including anti-Jewish decrees and the seizure of Jewish property. Revealing content in which Kaltenbrunner credits Burckel 1,000 Austrian shillings via a Vienna bank and asks that documents included be signed and returned. The letter is captioned at top: 'Collected sums' indicating that these sums were not government-sourced. There is also a 7% 'Tiwag Obligation' mentioned in the text. Tiwag was a firm operating a forced labor camp in Tyrol developing a hydropower plant, though it is doubtful if any of thsi money every reached that project. File holes, else very good.
