CELEBRATE THE NINTH PEOPLE'S CONGRESS AND DEVOTE OUR FAITHFULNESS TO CHAIRMAN MAO
Large and striking Chinese poster, printed in red on a white ground, 'Celebrate the Ninth People's Congress and Devote our Faithfulness to Chairman Mao' (Anhui: Workers Propaganda Department, Military Propaganda Department, and the Revolutionary Committee of Anhui People's Gallery), 1969, 30.5 x 21.5 in., a 'Workers and Peasants Pictorial' featuring stylized images of Mao Zedong being cheered on by the people, flags depicting Mao with other communist leaders, and scenes showing rural beauty and industrialization side by side. Many figures hold copies of Mao's 'Little Red Book'. At the bottom right corner is an image of a group of marching farmers, with the caption: 'It's about the rustification of the urban youth'. Several moderate tears at the edges, else very good.
