Cello Paul Blanchard. Mirecourt‎/Leon. 1851-1912.

Description:
Length = 758 mm. The instrument has rich concert speech and magnificent timbre.

An expert about this cello:

The top of two pieces of spruce with very even medium-wide grain, narrowing somewhat towards the flanks; the two-piece back of fine quarter cut maple with slightly irregular medium wide flame descending from the centre joint; the ribs of maple with shallower flames than the back, the scroll of maple with narrow flames; the original varnish of a deep red-brown colour, showing an even, fine craquelure, on a golden yellow ground.

The opinion of the professional violinist: "The instrument has very good tone and deep basses. In good condition, it almost doesn't have cracks. Magnificent original varnish. The instrument is in perfect condition.

Cello with the certificate of authenticity.
Information:
Paul Blanchard was taught by Auguste Darte. Worked with jean-Baptiste Vuillaume and Silvestre. Paul Blanchard's violins were made under the influence of them until 1885. After 1885 he used his own model.
