Jewish-Anti Christian Polemics
Many were the works authored by Gedolei Yisrael on the centuries-old debate between Judaism and Christianity in order to refute fallacious arguments leveled against the Jewish religion and faith. These debates, often instigated by the order of the regional monarch, bishop or veteran Christian scholars, were exceedingly sensitive and frequently resulted in perilous outcomes, pogroms and expulsions for the entire Jewish community in that region or country.

In his epic Sefer Hanitzachon, Harav Yom Tov Lipmann offers brilliant guidance to individuals forced to debate Christian scholars, as well as clear instructions regarding precisely what and how to respond to their arguments.

Sefer Hanitzachon was accepted as the classic text for religious polemics. It was printed and disseminated in numerous editions and languages.
