MEIJI period 1868-1912. The wooden Figurine is painted with gold and lacquer in MAKI-E technique and colored mother of pearl inlays all over the garment. The geisha’s face, arms, legs and a umbrella stick are made of ivory. Also made of Ivory are the mask that fell and leaves (on hairdo, clothes and floor). Signed. Oval wooden base. Height: 24 cm.
