Giant archive from the Milikowski-Netanyahu and Margolin Family. Eretz Yisrael, Europe and the United States. Beginning of the 19th century-1960s.
Historic personal archive with thousands of documents, certificates and letters from the Milikowsi-Netanyahu and Margolin families. Eretz Yisrael (Palestine and Israel), Europe and the United States at the beginning of the 19th century-1960s.
The archive includes items related to historic and valuable subjects including: *Documents and certificates from Rabbi Nosson Milikowski (1879-1935), grandfather of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, alumni of Yeshivat Volozhin, passionate Zionist who, as a prominent speaker, drew enthusiastic crowds throughout Europe and the United States.
*Certificate of Citizenship of "Nathan Netanyahu Milikowski" with the stamps of the British Mandate from 1926. In this document, his profession is listed as "rabbi and scribe, " and it lists his children (the oldest son, Ben Tzion, was the father of Binyamin Netanyahu). Interestingly, instead of his picture, there is a picture of his wife.
* Rabbi Milikowski's correspondence with the National Library and other libraries regarding his book Folk Un Land, a rare book of his speech " HaNevi'im V'ha'am" from 1915, and correspondence with noted philanthropist Louis Topkis.
*Zionist items from the 1930s such as: documents from participation in the 18th Zionist Congress, a German sports club in 1931, the League for Eretz Yisrael Ha'Ovedet, the Hebrew Gymnasium, and the birth certificates of his children in Palestine. Documents and certificates related to the family's Zionist activities in the 1930s and '40s (JNF, Zionist Organization, scouts youth group, training program for enlistees) in Prague, Yugoslavia and other locations. Rabbi Milikowski worked on behalf of the JNF and Keren HaYesod under the instruction of Menachem Ussishkin.
*Dozens of original photos (portrait and studio) of various sizes of Ben Tzion Netanyahu, Ezer Weizmann and pictures and certificates from diplomatic and family events related to the Milikowski and Netanyahu family in the United States and Israel.
*Personal archive of Boaz Margolin (married to the Milikowsi-Netanyahu family), from the 1920s-1960s. His Zionist family was one of the first members of the Jewish settlements in Gaza and Rechovot at the beginning of the 20th century. He was a communal activist, building contractor and exporter. Personal documents: ketubah, high school diploma in history from the Nordia Gymnasium in Tel Aviv, 1930. Diplomas from the Technion in Prague and Haifa from the 1930s. Hundreds of personal letters in a number of languages (Hebrew, Yiddish, German, Czech and more), stencils and letters documenting correspondence between many family members (from his side and the Netanyahu side) from Palestine, Europe and the United States. Includes hundreds of personal letters that he received from his fiancée. Documents and newspaper clippings related to the Margolin's settlement in Gaza. Interesting letters related to the Milikowski-Netanyahu business and the Margolin compnay, including family business secrets, official letters and documents from Palestine relating to business.
*Large historic binder of the Ramat Gan Bowling Club which Boaz led in the 1950s. Thousands of documents, certificates and pictures of various sizes and conditions. All generally well preserved and legible.
