Letter from the Rebbe on collections being carried out in his name, signed by the secretary with handwritten additions
Typewritten letter on official letterhead, from 24th of Sivan 1973: “It is of course not an option that each and every person will make a collection in the Admor’s name (and it has never been heard before) and so in order not to embarrass one can’t permit that even in the matter under discussion. With blessings.” Signed by the secretary, Rabbi H.M.A. Chedkov, “in the name of the Admor Shlita”. Many letters supposedly signed by the secretaries were actually the Rebbe himself signing using the secretary’s name. [1] page and envelope. Folding creases, light stains, overall good condition. The Chabad Rebbe, the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch, was the 7th leader of the Chabad movement and lived from 18 April 1902 to 12 June 1994.
